Senator Lucio Malan is an historian and five-time Senator of the Italian Republic since 2001, where he currently serves on the Foreign Affairs Committee. Previously he served one mandate at the Italian Chamber of Deputies. He has served in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Between 2008 and 2010, he was Vice-President of the Interparliamentary Committee on Tibet, and since 2013 he is President of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group Italy-Taiwan.
