Shaomin Li (Ph.D., Princeton University) is Eminent Scholar and Professor of International Business at Old Dominion University. He studies the global environment of business with a focus on the governance environment in changing societies. He published in Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Comparative Economics, World Development, Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, and The New York Times. His most recent book, Bribery and Corruption in Weak Institutional Environments, is published by Cambridge University Press. The Economist featured his research on rule-based versus relation-based governance twice. He is Executive Editor of the journal Modern China Studies. In 2008 the Governor of Virginia presented him the Outstanding Faculty Award.
